This essay highlights the overthrow of Prime Minister Mohammad Mossadegh in 1953, perceived as a danger to Western interests in Iran following his decision to nationalize the oil industry. First designated as a "popular uprising", this reversal turned out to be a coup d'état orchestrated in particular by the British and American secret services. Crossing Western and Iranian sources, the book immerses us in the four-day period between the first failed coup and the second successful attempt, and presents the actors and their roles before, during and after these events.
