Friends, Shirin and Pari see their lives turned upside down by the advent of the Islamic Republic in 1979.
The fate of Pari and his three brothers, who have chosen opposing commitments, is the fabric of this romantic tale. Abas, general of the Shah's army, was forced to flee to the United States when the regime fell; Javad is a communist activist; Ali, hero of the war against Iraq, is, for his part, an admirer of Ayatollah Khomeini. All three will die ...
This story, where drama and everyday life intermingle, is a parable of contemporary Iranian society, extremely diverse. A golden cage whose luster is tarnished by violence, corruption and intolerance.
